    Biography. Alan Alborough was born in Durban, South Africa, in 1964. He has an MA Fine Art degree from Goldsmiths College, University of London (1997), and a BA Fine Art degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (1991).

    Alan Alborough, nominated for his national touring exhibition as the Standard Bank Young Artist for 2000, has won the FNB Vita Art Prize 2002 for a work titled Split Decision 2002. Alborough wins R35 000 and the considerable kudos of the award, past winners of which include Moshekwa Langa (2001), Terry Kurgan (2000) and Jo Ractliffe (1999).
