Angus Taylor was born in 1970 in a hospital in Hillbrow to a journalist father and a mother trained in painting. He grew up in the Vaal Triangle, Gauteng, South Africa. After school Angus Taylor travelled around South Africa, went to the army and studied fine Arts at the University of Pretoria and graduated with honours in 1997.
