    Arthur M. Kraft (1921-1977) was born in Kansas City, MO. He spent most of his life in Kansas City, save for a short period in New York City and during his service in WWII. His first formal art training came from Saturday morning classes at the Nelson Gallery of Art. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute, then went to the School of Fine Arts at Yale University in 1946 to finish his degree.
