Dec 21, 2001 · After spending about 5 minutes figuring out how show shoes work, we headed towards artist point, proceeding just outside the ski resort boundary at first. After stopping many times to soak in the scenery and take snapshots, we made it to Artist point at around 1pm. Views of Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan were enough to make you want to stay the night.

Artist point is located in the Mount Baker National Forest and while a lot of places in national forests can be free to park at Artist Point it is not. The parking or entrance fee is $10.00 but it is totally worth it for what you see and the views you get.

The hike from Bagley Lake, going on to the Chain Lakes and Artist Point, is probably the most stunning hike I've ever taken.
