The Yukon School of Visual Arts offers students a rigorous eight-month Foundation Year Program equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree. Upon completing the Foundation Year Program, SOVA graduates may elect to transfer directly into the second year of a BFA at a number of SOVA- affiliated Canadian art schools.

The Artist in the School program (AIS) provides Yukon school children with the opportunity to be instructed and inspired by practicing artists and to learn to work with a variety of art forms and media. It is available to all Yukon elementary and secondary schools, including 18 schools in Whitehorse and 14 in the communities.
