Sep 22, 2016 · Dug North - Kinetic Sculpture I am an artist who creates contemporary automata -- hand-cranked wooden sculptures that employ mechanisms to animate small scenes. Most of my interests dwell in that area between art and technology. The combination of technical and artistic elements one finds in automata has enormous appeal to me.
