Taylor is credited with revitalizing the organization's emphasis on youth by founding the Bellflower Young Artist Concerto Competition in 1990, an event which has proven to be extremely successful. In 2011, the Amateur Adult Competition was launched in order to offer talented adults 24 years and older the opportunity to perform with the orchestra.

At age 12 he made his solo orchestral debut with the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra in April 2018 for winning 1st place in the 29th annual Bellflower Young Artists Concerto Competition. He was also invited to perform solo violin and piano at Carnegie Hall’s Weil Recital Hall in April 2018, and solo piano at the Hall in December 2016.
