Feb 05, 2006 · The 430 and 440 also had a different width than the 450. I think Bernina did that on purpose so people who had different needs would be able to find a machine they liked in the series. As for Bernina for embroidery- honestly, I wouldn't go with them for embroidery again (I only did because they threw the module in with the machine purchase).

Oct 14, 2012 · Help, I'm looking for a new machine. My local dealer has a Bernina 640E w/BSR for $3900 + tax (7.6%). Bernina has 48 mo/SAC financing right now. I have never bought a sewing machine (I'm sewing with a 22 year old basic Pfaff given to me). A friend said to offer less. I didn't know buying a machine was like buying a car:( How much do I offer?

CJV This is my third Bernina. My first was a Christmas gift in 1976 and I still think it was the best machine ever made. My husband bought this very expensive Artista 730e as a gift on our 50th anniversary, thinking he was buying the very best.
