May 18, 2011 · Brian J. Jones, 20th/21st Century Astra on a downwind leg signed and dated 'Brian J. Jones/- 11 -' (lower right) oil on canvas 24 x 40 in. (61 x 101.6 cm.) Designed and built by Camper & Nicholsons at Gosport in 1928, Astra was a beautiful Bermudian-rigged composite cutter of 91 tons gross (83 net) and measured 115 feet in length with a 20 foot beam.
