Brickbottom Artists Association (BAA): A non-profit 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to preserving and expanding the arts in Somerville and the greater Boston area. Founded in 1987 by residents of the Brickbottom Artists Building, the BAA today welcomes both resident and non-resident artists and supporting members.

A group of 85 artists purchased the warehouse and established the Brickbottom Artists Cooperative, providing affordable housing for artists. It is open to emerging and established artists in the greater Boston metropolitan area. Shows are scheduled throughout the year, and there are no fees for exhibiting. Brickbottom Artists' Building Brickbottom was developed in the mid-eighties by a group of artists looking for affordable studio spaces in the Boston area. They converted an old bread factory into one of the largest buildings of live/work space for artists in the country. These units are mostly condos with occasional rentals avaiable.
