Burt Shonberg (1933-1957) was a Los Angeles-based artist whose fantastical work attracted the attention of Ackerman, who acted as his agent and introduced him to the film community. Shonberg's work appears in Roger Corman's House of Usher (1960) and The Premature Burial (1962) and he was also a successful art director until his premature death.
