04-01-2013, 05:57 AM. IIRC, the 720 is a tube-type organ with tubes in the oscillators and in the power supply/amp chassis. The keyers for the flutes and diapasons are solid-state however. The 721 is fully transistorized throughout. Also, the 720 has rocker-style tablets while the 721 has tongue-tabs.

Conn later revised the Artist from the ground up and made it a 32-pedal organ with conventional stop control. Conn used an independent tone generator for each note and employed special keying circuits to slow down slightly the attack of the notes, imitating the lag of a pipe organ.

Congratulations! I picked up a free Conn 720 this last year, although I believe the 721 is a pretty different product. It should still have internal speakers, though. Others here will be able to tell you more about the organ. One thing to watch out for is that older Conns have a keying system that's hard to repair.
