Cormac worked as an exploration geologist before settling outside Allihies on the Beara Peninsular in 1972. Following a time as a meditation instructor, he has worked as a full time artist since 1983.

He develops all glazes and colours from basic earth minerals, and works almost exclusively with Irish clays.

Cormac Boydell (b 1946) Cormac Boydell was born in Dublin and studied art with Oisin Kelly, one of Ireland’s most prominent and inspirational sculptors.
