Jan 26, 2012 · Patrick Heron was born in 1920 in Leeds but lived in St Ives from 1925 to 1930. He studied at the Slade School from 1937 but his painting was interrupted by the war. In 1945 he settled in London and began to paint again. Heron turned to abstract art, under the influence of American abstract painting, 1956 and moved to Zennor in Cornwall in 1956.
