Artist statement David Lafrance’s bountiful, iconographic universe has evolved through painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing and experimental music for nearly 15 years. His imagery includes human and animal figures, but also a plethora of historical and pop cultural symbols that activate our collective memory, but also the artist’s own personal memory.

Working out of Montréal, David Lafrance completed a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts at Concordia University (2001), majoring in painting and drawing. He received the Guido Molinari Award for his outstanding academic record. For the last few years, this multi-talented artist has participated in many exhibitions throughout Québec and Canada; in addition to painting, David carves, sculpts and even plays music.
