He moved to the States in 1991, and studied in Florida and then at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. He has been a faculty member there for over ten years. His painterly realist landscapes are done en plein air, around the neighborhoods of the city, especially the Holy Cross neighborhood where he lives.
