Rodolfo Escalera was the only son of a family of five, born in Gomez Palacio, Durango Mexico in 1929. His love for drawing was noticeable from a very young age; a talent that was "inherited" from his father and grandfather whom both were talented artists in their own right. Rodolfo was actually forbidden from pursuing art as a career.
