Eve Whitaker has resided near Austin, Texas since 2003. She received her BFA from Michigan State University and her MFA in Printmaking from Indiana University – Bloomington in the early 1980’s. Over the last twenty years she has acquired representation with Gruen Galleries, Chicago; Joyce Petter Gallery, Michigan; and SOHO20 Gallery, NY.

Eve Whitaker, having seen books of the atrocities in Guatemala in the 80s painted bodies in piles. She chose to find comfort in her family and a rural existence while investigating the horror, trauma, aftermath and forms of war, aging and death.
