GEOFF ARCHER ART / ART HISTORY. Geoff Archer was born in Manchester in 1945 and now lives in Cheshire. After 2 years studying architecture at Manchester Regional College of Art he switched to a B.A. course in Fine Art at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham (now Trent University). This was followed by an Art Teachers’ Certificate course at Reading University which led to a teaching career lasting over 30 years.

Geoff Archer, from Macclesfield and who organises the annual Macclesfield Open Art Exhibition, will be exhibiting some of his own work at the Nicholson Museum and Art Gallery, including a huge eight metre wide painting of Death Valley.

Jeffrey Howard Archer was born in the City of London Maternity Hospital in Finsbury and his birth was registered in the June quarter of 1940.
