George Abend. Born in New York city in 1922. Abend served in the United States Army from (1942-1946). He studied at the University of California Berkeley from (1946-1947). He later went on to study at the California School of Fine Arts from (1948-1950); Acadèmie de la Grande Chaumière, Paris (1951-52) and University of Guadalajara, Mexico (1953-54).
