George Pennier, a Coast Salish artist of the Sto:lo Tribe, was born in Mission City, British Columbia, Canada on March 20, 1957. Raised in a family of nine children near Harrison Lake, George attended school in the Fraser Valley. However, his education in art was essentially self-taught; George explains he was simply "always drawing".
