    Born in Montreal in 1933, Gerard Castonguay sketched, drew and painted at an early age. He studied for two years at the «Ecole du meuble» in Montreal. He kept on studying Art at the «Academie des Arts du Canada» completing courses in graphics, illustration and painting. He then worked as a graphist-illustrator conceptor.
