As a visual artist Halcy has studied at the Corcoran School in DC, the Art League in Alexandria, VA and the Yellow Barn Studio at Glen Echo Park.MD. She has a B.A. in history from Smith College, an MAT from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in psychology from New York University. She taught high school history in Brookline MA and Norfolk, VA.
