    May 22, 2008 · Henry George Glyde, painter, art educator (b at Luton, Eng 18 June 1906; d at Victoria, BC 31 Mar 1998). Glyde was trained at the Royal College of Art, London (1926-30). He came to Canada in 1935 to teach drawing in Calgary at the Provincial Institute of Technology and Art and in 1936 became head of the art department.
