May 14, 2017 · In your iTunes Library, check the album to see if it is set as a compilation. (Highlight the album and select File/Get Info/Optionsand setPart of a Compilation to "No". If it is - and - if you have Compilations set to "on" in the Music menu on your iPod, then the artist will not show up.

Feb 03, 2008 · If it's showing up there and not on the iPod, then it still seems the compilations setting is the most likely cause of this. Since iTunes and the iPod have distinct settings for whether tracks are grouped as part of a compilation, it's possible for the artist to show up properly on iTunes but still not appear properly on the iPod itself.

On your iPhone, can you pull up the songs under Compilations? Check the album info on iTunes on your computer. If it somehow got tagged as a 'compilation' (which could very easily be the case, given how hip-hop as a genre is prone to multiple compilations on albums.) then de-select this as an option, make sure it's listed with Chance as the Album Artist and this may solve your problem.
