Jan 13, 2020 · Album Artist seems to be the default, and I see nowhere else to change/add other options. It lists Artist as the category, but is clearly sorting by the Album Artist. Unfortunately, a huge chunk of my music does not have an Album Artist listed, only Artist. It is possible to sort by Artist in Apple Music, just not on the iPod Touch, at least that I can find.

I download a lot of mixtapes online and the album artist field isn't always filled out so the artist name doesn't even show up.

Apr 18, 2008 · As of one of the recent versions, sorting by Album Artist is entirely possible. Make sure you have the most recent version of ml_ipod installed and then you can hit the "Sort" button and choose Album Artist for any smart view.
