If iTunes is also keeping the iTunes Media folder organised then the tracks get moved out of the folders that previous could have indicated the artist and album they belonged to.

Apr 06, 2010 · There is no artist name, album, etc. This present a host of problems. If I convert the WAV file to some other format, iTunes moves the original folder to an “unknown artist” folder and also changes the name of the folder to “unknown.” Obviously, this is another major problem.

Sep 18, 2013 · I've added loads of songs, on my iTunes, they were originally perfectly organised on my computer in folders, but when i added them to itunes, all of them went under unknown artists. to add them i did 'file>add folder to library> then selected my folders. how do i get them out of unknown artist and into their own allocated folder on my ipod, thanks
