Biography Jan Staller captures the ephemeral moments of the urban landscape such as a city just after the blizzard, not yet marred by footsteps of the morning commute. Shooting at dusk or dawn enables Staller and his Hasselbad camera to play with light and color, imbuing polluted industrial sites with a surreal and lunar quality.

Staller attended Bard College at Simon's Rock liberal arts college, Great Barrington, MA, where he obtained his Associate of Arts degree in 1971. He went on to attend Maryland Institute, Baltimore, MD and obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1975.
