Janet Levy Fine Art. Each of these trees exists in my neighborhood in Durham, most within blocks of my home. I am out walking with my dog Amarri several times a day and therefore have observed these trees in all seasons at all times of the day. They are a very intimate part of my immediate landscape and a natural subject for me to paint.

Janet Levy is a sculptor, her work focuses on the physical and conceptual exploration of stone: using primarily alabaster, onyx and marble, she creates abstract sculptural forms and installations; expressing an inherent desire to reveal what is concealed; She carves, binds, and hangs stone often combining with other materials such as rope, chain and metal.

Janet Levy is an artist and independent curator. A Los Angeles native with New York heritage, Levy was immersed in the arts from an early age and went on to earn a photography degree and later study sculpture at the Schule für Gestaltung in Basel. In 1996, Levy launched her curatorial practice with an exhibition in Luzurn, Switzerland.
