Janice Moorhead, Glass Artist. In 1979 I received an honours degree in visual arts from the University of Ottawa. While my studies were mostly in the realm of painting and print making, it was quite soon after graduation that I discovered glass. Because of its luminosity and perfect surface quality it soon replaced paint as my medium of choice.

A 30 year career as a glass artist has certainly established my visual vocabulary. However, recently I have chosen to pursue painting, as it is a much freer form of expression. My current series of paintings, titled, "Interiors" use the room as metaphor, as a means to explore human narrative, creating an atmosphere that transports the viewer into a world of interpretation.

In 1979 I received an honors degree in visual arts from the University of Ottawa. I have been a practicing artist for over 40 years. In 1985 I discovered glass, and having developed a layering. technique which replaced the traditional soldered joint, I became known across Canada as a glass artist.
