    Surrounded by all of this art, Kaneko was inspired to take up ceramics. He studied at Claremont Graduate School, then taught for seven years at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, before settling in Omaha, Nebraska, where he has a huge studio in an old converted warehouse.
