Jim Floyd Jones (1933- 2009 ), of Cedar City and Springdale, Utah, was a broadly realistic painter of southern Utah landscapes. His work conveys a powerful sense of grandeur in a tonalist abstracted sense. He was one of the most significant talents in the Utah artists community and resided in Rockville, Utah until his death on December 5, 2009.

About the Artist (1933-2009) Jim Jones was a Utah artist who was educated at the Art Center Los Angeles, University of California at Los Angeles and the University of Utah (1961). Best known for his paintings of Zion and the Grand Canyon, Jones also painted portraits and figures, spending his winters in Mexico. He depicted local scenes in Mexico.
