Apr 24, 2016 · In 2013, Jin Shan created the “Bad Angel” series, with the mischievous Cupid as the artist’s humorous embodiment. Since then, his artistic style has undergone a change; it no longer directly and concretely voices concerns about the ills of our time, instead digging out latent spiritual substances veiled by the sheen of grand narratives.

Jin Shan (b.1977, Jiangsu Province) graduated from Faculty of Fine Art of East China Normal University in 2000, currently works and lives in Shanghai. Jin Shan’s work has been exhibited at the Singapore Biennale, The Venice Biennale, The Groninger Museum, Netherlands, David Winton Bell Gallery, Brown University, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, LA USA，among others.

Jin Shan 靳山 currently works and lives in Shanghai, China. In 2011, as part of a three-week residency at the Spencer Museum sponsored by the Freeman Foundation, Jin created the installation It Came from the Sky, which included a large-scale policeman suspended from the ceiling in the Central Court that would unexpectedly crash to the floor.
