Born in Rochester, New York, in 1956, John Flynn was a daydreamer as a child. At an early age he was a daydreamer who found love in drawing and painting that would become his passion. The artist moved to New York City, where he attended college at F.I.T. and also studied at the Art Students League and School of Visual Arts.
