In the 1980’s I began as a realistic figure painter, aspiring to paint translucent skin and invisible realms, including angels. Every brush stroke mattered, but ultimately I found my faith was in art more than angels. The final piece from that period was one larger than life, hanging upside down from an altar, naked and dead.
