A Northern Michigan native, Kim Diment’s art brings personality and life to the animals she portrays. Both her art and love for animals started at young age. Her first preteen field sketches came from wanderings along the backwaters of the AuSable River during the spring thaw migrations. Kim became addicted to travel in the mid eighties.

Kim Diment, Acrylic Painter. Kim still resides in her native Michigan along the Au Sable River. She majored in zoology and fine art at Michigan State University before teaching high school art for 13 years. Kim became a full-time painter in 2003. She believes that traveling and painting go hand in hand, and she travels whenever possible.

Kim Diment's art and love for animals started at young age. Her first field sketches involved the waterfowl from the backwaters of the AuSable River. She drove her parents nuts by bringing home toads, frogs, turtles and orphaned animals. Her brother dubbing her “Nature Girl” in High School didn't exactly put her in the teen mainstream but did develop character.
