Apr 24, 2009 · A little more smooth and "tame" than the Artist, but nice nonetheless. I compared the Artist to several basses that day-from Ibanez (and I own two Iby's) to Schecter to Fender to ESP. As far as I was concerned it was no contest. The Kingston outshined them all in playability and tone for my tastes. A Kingston is definitely on my future GAS list.

Jan 24, 2021 · MTD Kingston Artist (Michael Tobias Design) 5-String bass guitar in great condition. 35" scale with an asymmetrical neck which makes this bass super easy to play. Intonation is perfect and the action is low. Plays and sounds like a dream. Balance is sublime. Standard tuning or sweetened Buzz Feiten tuning can be used.

Great playing full-scale bass with beautiful finish and design by Michael Tobias. Some minor dings here and there, and the finish is cracking a bit between strings and knobs as shown in the photos, but the sound of this bass is monstrous. It’s built like a tank too.
