I use the black panels as a Claude Glass, an 18th century black glass that helped artists’ simplify colors, shapes and tones. My black panels are a way to re-see the surrounding environments and encourage viewers to "see" from the black space. I refer to this body of work as the Other Side of Black.

Zoll is a recent recipient of the Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship from the Arts Council of Indianapolis. She received her BFA from the College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico and her MFA in 2006 from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
