Haitian Levoy Exil was born on December 7, 1944 in Soisson La Montagne, a town in Pétion Ville, Haiti where he first worked as a farmer. In 1970, he met Jean Claude Garoute (TIGA) who founded the Saint Soleil group in his native village. Levoy was part of this movement with Louisiana Saint Fleurant, Antilhomme, & Prosper Pierre Louis.
