Bio Lisa Kokin creates her art with recycled and reclaimed materials she has found at flea markets, thrift stores, and recycling centers. In the past she has worked with buttons, photographs, and other found objects, but now she works mostly with books, the contents of which she shreds, blends, pulps, glues, and otherwise modifies before presenting them to her viewers in various states of recognition.

Feb 22, 2018 · Lisa classes herself as a mixed media artist as she likes to change things up and work with what she connects with at the time. In an interview she said she doesn’t like to use sketchbooks , just notebooks to jot down titles and ideas which I found really interesting as she does a lot of book art and turns books into pieces of art which to me look very similar to sketchbooks.
