    Lissa Hunter (b. 1945 in Indianapolis, IN) is a sculptor who creates contemporary coiled baskets and currently resides in Portland, ME. Her baskets are covered with paper, then painted, and adorned. She displays her work on wall-mounted boxes. She received a BA from Indiana University and an MFA from Indiana University in Textile Design.

Her work is in the permanent collections of The Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Museum of Art + Design in New York, and the Houston Museum of Art, among others.
