    Murphy studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design before settling in New York where he continues his art practice. Earlier in his career his practice focused on conceptual painting. His exhibition with WTG in 2002, Landscapes, marked a turning point in his career. At that time he was developing works that could be viewed on line through his website.
