    Manuel Rivera was born in Granada on April 23rd, 1927. At the age of 18 he entered the Superior School of Fine Arts of Seville. In 1951 he took a part in the 1st Hispano-American Art Biennial of Madrid. As a guest to the course of Abstract Art given by the International University Menendez Pelayo, he met many of the artists with whom he teamed up in the "El Paso" group in 1957.
