Nov 24, 2014 · Since it seems that the Artist 3203 head and Lead 100 MOSFET heads are so similar, does anyone know if there's a similar bright-cap mod for the MOSFET, like the C13 mod on the Artist? Overall, I would still like to squeeze more low-end beef from the MOSFET and the clean channel is nice, but rather bright, on the verge of spikey/piercing.

Nov 01, 2014 · My Artist 3203 was apparently already modded; it had 2x 47pF ceramic disk parallel in C13 (making almost 100pF total). This sounded quite decent. albeit bright-ish. To check the tone versus no cap at all, I replaced the cap with a 270pF, only one side connected to the PCB and the other to a SPDT toggleswitch, that would switch the cap in and out of the circuit.

Nov 07, 2009 · We've compared it to my 50 watt JMP clone, TSL 100 and 1983 4104 50 watt combo, it can be dialed in to sound close to each but over all sounds like a Marshall should. We tried the C13 mod, I think that's what it was, and preferred the stock circuitry. He had the combo version as well and the mod was better on that amp.

May 06, 2014 · The day that the MXR & Danelectro eq pedals showed up I tried each one thru the effects loop and thru the front end of my Mesa Tverb head and I didn't notice any noise or hiss from the Danelectro but the MXR I did although the hiss wasn't nearly as bad as thru the Marshall Artist 3203 head not to mention the feedback when using with the Marshall.
