Dec 24, 2009 · The delightfully named Marshall 2040 "Artist" is a tube amp made from 72 to 79, if I remember correctly (the one I have was born in 77), a power of 50 watts (a pair of EL34) with two independent channels bridgeable: …4/5(2)

Jun 14, 2020 · The Artiste uses a 12AX7 there which probably needs to be an AT7 and the 470K resistor value (which is pretty much all the Ice Cube is) may also need to be experimented with. Attached Files: 048-3046E-2040 Artiste 04.JPG

Apr 14, 2013 · I believe the amp is a Marshall Artiste. (1972?) Lead Bass Organ - Stock number 2040 Watts 160 Made in England. It has two Celestion Speakers Model G12h 30 watts For me it has a nice clean sound and he has an overdrive pedal for it as well. Since buying it I have read a few negative comments about it.

From Marshall Artiste to Plexi

Being made in '71, my Artiste has a point-to-point circuit board, but I've a sneaking feeling that some of the later Artiste amps had a PCB (Marshall made the main switch to PCB during '73). A PCB version would be a nightmare to modify - I'd probably not have bothered. So, if you're looking for an Artiste to plexify bear, please this issue in mind.

All you need to make the tone stack is a 25k pot for the Middle control and some caps out of the bits box (the Artiste doesn’t have enough of the traditional Marshall 0.022uF value). It didn’t take long to find a layout that worked with the turrets available, and it just fits perfectly into the space just to the left of the two 10k power ...

Apr 22, 2019 · That's an extremely nice, nearly all-original example of one of Marshall's (unfortunately) least desirable amps. At a quick look the only thing I can see that's been changed is the power switch. 'Rare' green Plessey caps too. It's not a terrible amp, but it is very different from standard Marshalls, and really nothing like a Twin either.
