Michael English was a native of North Carolina, born on April 12, 1962 in Kenansville and raised in North East. When he turned ten, he started singing with the Singing Samaritans, and after graduating high school he joined the Singing Americans. English appeared on a few records by the Singing Americans before joining the Goodmans in 1982.
