    MICHAEL SCOTT. Born in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Michael lived in Yorkshire from 1956 to 1965. Until 1968, he studied Political Science in Liverpool and moved to Glasgow in 1969 with full-time research at Glasgow University's Department of Politics. In 1971, Michael took a lecturing post at Glasgow Caledonian University, first in Politics and later in Sociology and Philosophy.
