As a member of the now defunct band Skankin' Pickle, Park was able to release 5 LP'S, tour 14 countries, and make his mark in the indie music world. In 1996, Park started Asian Man Records. Modeling it after Dischord of Washington, D.C., Park hoped he could create an equal counterpart on the West Coast that stayed true to the spirit of punk/diy.
