She is self-taught and the beneficiary of workshops offered by the Handweavers Guild of Boulder, CO and its fiber community. Patricia grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York.

Patricia Dunn-Walker is originally from Illinois where she received her training in graphic design. She moved to Minnesota to pursue a career in design. After working in the field for a number of years she took a year-long break to teach English in Japan.
