David Pelbam is from Rhode island. He does paintings actively between 1950 through 1970s. There is a not a lot of information for this artist aside from him being born in 1932. He died in 2004. He was best known for his portraits of ship captains, rabbi, dock workers amongst others. The kicker though is that he painted himself as these characters.

Apr 04, 2011 · In looking at the signature enlarged the b does not close and looks more like an h, Pelbam is not the name of a listed artist whereas, Pelham is more common and is one of the listed artist. You could approach an auction house, I know you asked one based on Pelbam, try it again using Pelham to see if they are more interested.
